facsimiles title bar

The title of this series is inspired by descriptions one used to see in the classified advertising sections in back of old magazines and pulp novels. You could send away for items as random as hair products, lingerie, hairpieces, and much more. Often, there would be a small illustration describing the fabulous product, and it usually said (in the tiniest of fonts) "REASONABLE FACSIMILE," as a sort of disclaimer. My own drawings of different vintage objects are kind of a take on that, in that they are not meant to be photorealistic reproductions, but more like homages to the original objects themselves. All of the works are watercolor on paper, and some of them are sculptural, front-back pieces. To view the works below at a larger size, just click on a thumbnail image.
